After six seasons confined to the Stygian gloom of the labyrinthine vaults of the Caroussel du Louvre, the Paris Biennale makes its triumphant return to the newly restored Grand Palais this month (15-24 September). It is always a matter of national pride that this flagship fair is a spectacular celebration of the art, style and culture of France in all its guises. This year, however, the Syndicat National des Antiquaires is pushing out every boat, giving the celebrated designer Francois-Joseph Graf a stupendous 30m [euro] or so to splash out on the installation alone.
