    BOULDER, Colo. _ When was the last time you heard the word ``Mekong''? Twenty years ago? After the United States' withdrawal from southern Vietnam in 1974, the American public and media turned away from that Southeast Asian nation. Now that the Cold War is allegedly over, and now that the U.S. government is in the process of normalizing relations with the Republic of Vietnam, Vietnamese place names will be reappearing in our media.
