YOU could almost hear the mutterings of discontent as far away as the South Wales valleys when WRU plans were revealed to put North Wales on the path to becoming the fifth region in Welsh rugby this week.
Just two years ago, the union became the scourge of Pontypridd and Bridgend when that rugby heartland was wiped off the top-flight map overnight with the winding up of the cash-strapped Celtic Warriors.
