THE first ever farmers' market in Harborne has been branded a great success with plans already in place to extend the second market next month.
Locally grown produce sold out within two hours of the market opening for the first time last Saturday and more than 5,000 people flocked to the stalls.
Alan Johnson, who runs Elegusto cheese and wine shop and chairs the market steering committee, said: "People have said that the High Street really came alive for the day and we hope that this will become a monthly shopping habit for everyone.
