Sep. 12--Danny Mendoza grew up wanting to emulate one of the greatest football players in Wink High School history -- his brother, Doro.

Doro Mendoza set a state record that still stands, scoring 55 points in a game in 1998. Eight years later, Danny Mendoza isn't setting records, but he is doing everything but that for the Wildcats (2-0).
