Sep. 7--WILKES-BARRE -- Heightened security was in force at Central Court Wednesday for the preliminary hearings of two men accused of fatally shooting a man in what police say was a plan to rob the victim of drugs. Two state police troopers, both armed, used hand-held metal detectors to search people who entered the courtroom. And, a heavier than usual police motorcade was utilized to transport the suspects from jail.
