MIAMI -- InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) (LSE:IHG) (NYSE:IHG) (ADRs), the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, today announced the opening of the much anticipated Crowne Plaza Belem in the state of Para, Brazil.

The opening furthers IHG's expansion of its Crowne Plaza brand in Latin America, and serves as a homecoming for IHG, whose premier brand InterContinental Hotels & Resorts was established in Belem 60 years ago, in 1946.
