Polaris, Japan Energy Investment to take over Taiko Paper.

Sep. 6--TOKYO -- Polaris Principal Finance Co. and Japan Energy Investment Inc. said Wednesday they have successfully completed a tender offer for shares in Taiko Paper Mfg. Co. through a joint venture of the two investment funds.

They will purchase some 22 million shares, or a 92.63 percent stake in the Shizuoka Prefecture-based paper producer, for about 2.2 billion yen as a result of the tender offer conducted between Aug. 11 and this Tuesday. Their aim is to turn around the investment target's business within three to five years.
