Sep. 5--The politics was as mild as the weather at Monday's Labor Day celebration in Paducah, with the 27 political candidates who spoke focusing on their connections with labor, support of labor issues and their qualifications.
In the race for the four seats on the Paducah City Commission, master of ceremonies Larry Sanderson said it was important to note which candidates were not present to talk to the mostly union crowd.
