I AM saddened that my local track has closed given the concerted efforts of the current promoter, Chick Hicken, to make meaningful changes to the track via substantially increased win prize-money and improvements to the running surface.
Previously, the NGRC was 'ostrich-like' when the previous promoter (good riddance Gary Ince) withheld prize-money from the attached trainers for several months thus curtailing their only form of revenue.
