In a recent conversation with contributing writer and good friend Nelson Rodríguez, a discussion was held on the current state of the Latin music industry with emphasis on salsa music, Latin jazz, and the ever changing pop music trends. We both agreed that about 75% of all the new releases that we receive weekly come from independent producers or small indy labels that are basically keeping the music alive.
