According to "Jordan Times", it was 30 years ago, in August 1976, that a handful of experts from the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum discovered one of the most beautiful mosaics of Jordan - the mosaic of the Old Baptistery Chapel in the Memorial Church of Moses at Mount Nebo. The Franciscan Fathers, who have since 1932 been the custodians of this most revered site - holy to the three monotheistic religions - could hardly believe their eyes.
