Aug. 24--FREELAND -- One of three men charged with the fatal shooting of a Jamaican man near White Haven in March was accidentally shot in the back in what police believe was a plan to rob the victim of marijuana.

State police at Hazleton who directed the investigation said they recovered bloody clothing and other evidence related to the shooting from garbage bags at a home on East Chestnut Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Police said Valec Lawes, 24, was killed March 22 inside a rented Ford Explorer that was found two days later ...
