The chinch bug has been making a comeback in the Southeastern US, and Agricultural Research Service researchers are trying to develop non-chemical ways to control these pests. Frank M. Davis, an entomologist, and plant geneticist W. Paul Williams are trying to breed plants that can resist the chinch bugs.
