Aug. 19--MONTE VISTA - Presbyterians will celebrate 125 years here with a special service at 11 a.m. Aug. 27. The church was organized Oct. 30, 1881, as the Rock Creek and Lariat Church when the Rev. J.J. Gilchrist preached a sermon in the lower Rock Creek schoolhouse.
