On a scale of one to 10 in terms of difficulty, Sunday's Elgin Cycling Classic ranks about an eight, says the winner of the cycling classic's men's professional race.

With its tight turns and steep hills, the 1K race around downtown Elgin definitely wasn't a cakewalk, said Eric Marcotte, 26, of Minneapolis.
