Arab desert to go green with Indian Coir pith

Kochi, Aug 13 (PTI) The lowly coir pith from India will soon be used to manufacture soil conditioner and plant nutrients by Gulf countries to turn the Arab desert green.

An MoU for transfer of technology for bio-conversion of coir pith into soil conditioner, developed by the Coir Board, was signed between Somenath Ghosh, Chairman and Managing Director of National Research Development Corporation and Steve Beaumont, Chief Operating Officer, Alghanim Sons Group of Kuwait, here last night.
