The free enterprise policy adopted by previous US presidents has failed to stimulate the US economy which has stagnated since 1973. Passive economic policies will no longer be accepted by the American public. The Clinton administration should pursue economic policies that will restore a bias toward savings and investment, promote the development of high-tech industries and win back overseas and domestic markets.
