This growing northwest Guilford County town throws a party each spring, complete with a parade, arts and crafts, and a lot of eating.
Summerfield calls the affair Founders Day because it marks the town's incorporation in 1996.
Incorporation came as Summerfield was shedding its rural heritage for more of a town-like feel. The community's population has quadrupled since 1990.
Summerfield now features some of the county's swankiest new homes.
The Founders Day event has grown with Summerfield.
