A LINK to the medieval past was found at a North Wales castle just days before its first joust in more than 500 years.

A Zweihander double-handed sword hangs at Chirk Castle's Cromwell Hall, which would have been used in medieval combat.

Tomorrow and Sunday a joust will take place there for the first time in more than half a millennium.
