COMPLAINTS about spiritual healers and witch doctors are on the rise, Birmingham trading standards warned.

Officers have come across people who've handed over anything from pounds 500 to pounds 13,000 to bogus holy men. And that is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

But trading standards and the police face an uphill battle when it comes to cracking down on fake spiritual healers because the law isn't designed to deal with them.
