As with almost any part of a truck, picking the right suspension system is critical in minimizing maintenance costs and providing secondary benefits like cargo protection and ride comfort. Air suspension has become extremely popular on highway vehicles because the system lowers the pressure in the air bags and softens spring rates when load is reduced, keeping jounce to a minimum. This protects both driver and cargo from the irregularities in the road.
