It is a good thing that AVA didn't hang too much on the title of its show. That kept expectation low for a somewhat haphazard project that invited "artists across the board to submit an artwork, in any medium, relating to the subject, for selection by the selection panel".
The other gallery was, well, a little more in your face about "the particular genre of portrait painting... the gateway to the exploration of the relationship ...
