David Dudley has to like where he sits.

In the opening day of the FLW Tour Championship on Logan Martin Lake in Birmingham, Ala., the 29th-seeded Dudley jumped out to nearly a 3-pound lead over his opponent.

Dudley, who has homes in Lynchburg and Manteo, N.C., checked in a five-fish limit that weighed 10 pounds, 9 ounces. He leads No. 20 Darrel Robertson of Jay, Okla., who had a five-fish total of 7-10.
