The UN role in Cambodia is over as a result of the democratically held elections of May 1993. This led to the Royal Council of the Throne election of Prince Norodom Sihanouk as King of Cambodia on Sep 24, 1993. He in turn appointed Norodom Ranariddh as First Prime Minister.
