CHARLOTTE, N.C.--U.S. textile manufacturers continue to invest in technology to make their plants more competitive. Air-jet weaving machines, Quick Style Change (QSC) and electronic jacquards are some of the technologies where activity is hot.

"The trend is toward air-jet looms, which seem to be gaining consideraly over rapier machines," said Mansour Mohamed, two specializes in weaving technology at North Carolina State University's College of Textiles.
