Jul. 9--ORC Industries Inc. continues to offer no comment on reported layoffs at its Brownsville plant though questions about possible labor law violations persist. The Brownsville Herald reported in its June 19 edition that the nonprofit laid off 60 of its 400 employees, according to sources inside the company. ORC spokesman Rob Geist released a statement on Friday stating: "ORC Industries will not comment publicly on the numbers of employees who have been affected."
