There's always something startlingly refreshing about seeing your own backyard through a foreigner's eyes.
I have been going to Greyton for years - my aunt and uncle own a house there. The oak-lined streets with quaint cottages and cows meandering through the dirt roads give this Overberg town a unique charm, which has ensured that it ranks right up there on our family's list of favourite holiday destinations.
So it was a bit strange for my husband Gavin and I to go to Greyton with an American couple, Wayne and Christie, with whom we're friends.
