Jun. 27--Dena J. Boer, a Stanislaus County author and historian for whom a Salidaelementary school was named, diedSaturday. She was 76.

Mrs. Boer died at home of heart failure, her family said.

Known alternately as "Mrs. Salida" and "Mrs. History," Mrs. Boer wrote numerous books and articles documenting the history of the town and region she called home for 72 years.
