Barter deals expanding despite availability of cash. (survey of TV syndicators)

A poll of TV syndication executives indicates that barter is growing, and statistics provided by the Advertiser Syndicated Television Assn support this view. At the same time, the conditions that made barter possible are disappearing. In the early 1980s, cash-strapped stations exchanged ad time for programming. Now, with more independents becoming network affiliates, demand for syndicated product is declining.
