Jan. 13--Alaska Airlines and its flight attendants union said today they have agreed on a new contract modeled after one adopted by Southwest Airlines, a low-cost, no-frills airline that recently bought Morris Air, a major Alaska competitor.

Neither airline officials nor representatives of the Association of Flight Attendants, representing nearly 1,600 employees at the Seattle-based carrier, would disclose details of the contract today.
