SHOWBOAT LOUISIANA, INC. PLANS TO ACQUIRE ADDITIONAL INTEREST IN SHOWBOAT STAR PARTNERSHIP FROM STAR CASINO, INC.

    LAS VEGAS, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Showboat, Inc. (NYSE: SBO) announced today that Showboat Louisiana, Inc., plans to acquire an additional 20% interest in the Showboat Star Partnership from Star Casino, Inc., increasing Showboat's interest to 50% in the casino. Showboat will also assume responsibility as managing partner as a result of the additional investment.  The additional equity interest in the partnership is subject to approval by the Louisiana Riverboat Gaming Commission and the Riverboat Gaming Division of the Louisiana State Police.
