Tokyo, Japan, June 9, 2006 - (JCN) - Takara Bio has identified a unique property of fucoidan derived from Kjellmaniella crassifolia, a kind of giant kelp, in collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.
Specifically, the two partners have confirmed that high-molecular-weight fucoidan in Kjellmaniella crassifolia, which has an average molecular weight of 200,000, can inhibit the clot formation.
