Jun. 7--The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and the Kentucky River Authority are seeking volunteers for the 16th annual Kentucky River Clean Sweep on June 17.

The event, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is organized to pick up trash on 12 miles of the river, from the Clay's Ferry boat dock to the Valley View Ferry.

Some volunteers are needed to clean the riverbanks, but most of the effort will go toward removing trash from the river itself.
