Vendor debuts large imagesetter. (Linotype-Hell Ltd.)

Linotype-Hell Ltd introduced a new generation of Linotronic imagesetters at the 1993 Ipex exhibition in Birmingham, England. The Herkules imagesetter is available in small (21.3 X 21.7 inches) and large (29.6 X 21.7 inches) formats. Film can be output at any of five resolutions. Other new developments from Linotype-Hell include an agreement with Kodak and other manufacturers to develop a photo CD disc for the prepress market and a new version of its color management software, LinoColor 3.2. The ColorPath 600/700 scanner interface was also introduced.
