State police investigators say they are trying to determine why a 42-year-old Clay woman shot her husband in the head Tuesday in their home on Cedar Post Road.

Susan Lee Craker is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of her husband, Blaine A. Craker, 45, said Maj. Frank J. DeGennaro, the new state police Troop D commander.

"Part of the motive is certainly a domestic issue," DeGennaro said, "which will be looked into as this investigation continues."
