It's doubtful that many people who wear a Che Guevara T-shirt today really know the whole story behind the image. A favourite with fashion stylists and advertising creatives the world over, the famous graphic has become a shorthand for anti-establishment cool. In the past 40 years, Che has gone from being a symbol of political idealism, via the pop art of Andy Warhol, to decorating a packet of condoms in Mexico City.
