NEW YORK - New Era kicked off its retail initiative here on Saturday with the opening of its first store. The 2,000 square foot space, located in a landmark building on a cobblestoned section of East 4th Street between Lafayette and Broadway, will serve as New Era's retail flagship and the first in a small network of stores set to open over the next two years.

The store houses New Era's various fashion, sport and heritage-inspired caps as well as limited edition designs such as New Era's $500, python-skin, New York Yankees cap.
