By Anisur Rahman The Dhaka Courier, June 02 (UNB): The Norwegian poet and playwright Henrik Ibsen, father of modern drama, was born on 20 March 1828 and died on 23 May 1906. His literary works include about three thousand letters, one collection of poems, 26 plays and a good number of speeches. But he is widely known as a playwright rather than a poet. The Ibsen Foundation estimates that each week 130 theatres throughout the world put on one of his works.
