Ever since he achieved a Mercury Music Awards nomination for his homemade solo debut album Kitty Jay last year, Seth Lakeman's career has been on a rollercoaster. "The day I heard I was nominated," he says, "I was on the phone to the distributor to press up more albums, setting up interviews with the press and on my way to play a few tunes up in London. Then my car blew up."
