Challenging, aesthetic golf course to open in Lake George, N.Y.

May 30--LAKE GEORGE -- It was a gorgeous spring day at Top of The World Golf Resort.

Butterflies flitted in the warm air and minnows swam in the pond, but there won't be any birdies or eagles or albatrosses on the new course until June 8, when owner Jim Feeney officially opens his long-awaited 18-hole championship course.

Feeney said people playing the old 9-hole course in recent years have spent a good part of their rounds peeking at the cleared land, watching and wondering when the full 18 holes would take shape.
