Kruit's three sculptures exhibited at the rural Holland gallery Art & Project are made of polyurethane, but bear a strong resemblance to animal legs. In one piece the legs are covered with horsehide and look almost alive. The bodiless legs are both humorous and frightening.
In the '70s and '80s, Art & Project was the most famous Amsterdam gallery, the one with an international roster and an aggressive program. In comparison, it now seems semiretired.
