Miami real estate investor Eli Hadad said he has refused to pay the electric bill at one of his Syracuse buildings to get the power turned off and force out his remaining tenants - including several lawyers and a Subway restaurant.

He might get his wish.

National Grid is turning off the electric to the downtown building today, said Subway owner Tom Tzivanis, which will force him to close his sandwich shop and candy shop and lay off about a dozen workers.
