Ohio firm expands food waste biz.

An Ohio company expects to double the amount of food waste it can divert from area landfills with a grinding project that will cost more than a half a million dollars.

Paygro, of South Charleston, also expects to hire six new workers to help handle the expanded program that will target area colleges, high schools and institutions to capture more food waste.

Paygro already processes food waste from a Dole Food Co. Inc. plant in nearby Springfield that makes bagged salad products.

A Whole Foods Market in Columbus also sends about 8 tons of food ...
