Novo Nordisk runs consumer education promotion. (Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Inc.)

PRINCETON, N.J.--Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Inc. is running a consumer education promotion with drug chains that the insulin manufacturer says builds store loyalty.

The promotion, "Keeping Well with Diabetes," features a counter display explaining the campaign to consumers. Consumers who sign up receive educational materials, a newsletter and different cash incentives good only at that store or chain.

Once consumers sign up, the program ties them to the retailer, says director of marketing operations Joe Arcuragi, who adds that the campaign has been highly successful.
