They're all great American competitors, world-famous for excellence in their fields: Michael Jordan, Carl Lewis, Jack Nicklaus, Jerry Hodyl.

Jerry Hodyl? Well, maybe he isn't so famous after all, not even in his native Chicago. His sport just happens to be the considerably less-glamorous art of machining. But we'd all be better off if more kids looked to this young man as a role model, and more adults got serious about making it possible.
