1. Introduction

Framing the Study of Religion and the Internet

It is always an ambitious task to attempt to map an academic field of study. It is even more so a challenge to do so with an area of study that in many ways is still emerging and changing along with each new technology that surfaces. Religion online, in many respects, gained public attention through two magazine articles.
