Report highlights promising community school initiatives.

Eleven communities across the country have reached a "ripping point," where the participation of municipal officials in community school initiatives has helped transform the dries' educational systems, according to a newly released paper by the Coalition for Community Schools.

The paper, titled "Growing Community Schools: the Role of Cross-Boundary Leadership," focuses on how innovative partnerships between local governments, schools, community-based agencies, businesses and other sectors are creating and sustaining community schools.
