Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. is looking to Japan, not the United States or Europe, for its main sales growth this year.

The maker of Subaru cars predicts North American sales will rise by 10,000 units, to 220,000, in the fiscal year that began April 1. A full year of the redesigned Impreza is expected to help. Last fiscal year's 210,000 units was virtually unchanged from the prior year.

The company predicts sales in Europe will remain about 65,000.

In Japan, Fuji Heavy forecasts that sales of 660cc minicars will jump 25.8 percent to 167,000. ...
