May 16--Armor Holdings Inc. Monday said it raised its offer to buy Stewart & Stevenson Services Inc., amid shareholder discontent over Stewart's rejection of a higher bid.
Stewart in February accepted a $35-a-share bid from Jacksonville-based Armor despite a $35.50 bid from Oshkosh Truck Corp. With some shareholders balking at the Armor deal after learning of Oshkosh's offer, Armor over the weekend agreed to up its offer to $36.50.
